Kotaku reports that “for the first time in many years, Blizzard announced a new franchise today: meet Overwatch, a team-based multiplayer shooter with Pixar-like graphics that will enter beta next year.”

“The game looks great. It’s a PvP shooter with unique character classes, very reminiscent of Team Fortress 2.”

Blizzard released a cinematic trailer:

Gamespot adds that “While there are plenty more details to be unveiled about the game, Blizzard did show off 12 of the heroes you’ll be able to play when the game is eventually released, with every character in Overwatch featuring its own distinct set of weapons and super abilities.”
